RTEA sets performance goals for water, air and land quality and continues to make improvements in all of these areas of stewardship.
Rio Tinto Energy America takes great care in reclaiming the land back to its original state. Most of
RTEA’s reclaimed land supports substantially more livestock and offers as much as twice the vegetation and forage as undisturbed sites.
Finally, Rio Tinto Energy America works diligently to help minimize the
impact of burning coal. We work to address issues associated with reducing the amount of emissions from power plants and have invested in technology that helps to solve this issue. We remain committed to providing for today and protecting for tomorrow.
