Gary S.
Rivenes is Vice President, Operations of Rio Tinto Energy
America, based in Gillette Wyoming. Mr. Rivenes
is responsible for all Rio Tinto Energy America (RTEA) operating
mines as well as the site-based
technical and maintenance groups. Rio Tinto Energy America is
one of America’s most efficient and
affordable coal producers. As the nation’s foremost producer of
low sulfur compliance coal, Rio Tinto Energy
America can meet a wide variety of customer specifications and
provide customer flexibility in
ordering, shipping and production demands. Rio Tinto Energy
America, a major U.S. coal producer, is part of Rio
Tinto Energy, a major producer of coal and uranium worldwide.
Rio Tinto Energy is the global energy
company of Rio Tinto, plc in London, which is a leader in
finding, mining and processing the earth’s mineral
resources.
Mr.
Rivenes began his career with Rio Tinto Energy America in 1992
and has worked in the mining industry at
several locations and within various disciplines with
significant experience in engineering, production and mine
management. Over the past 16 years, Gary has held such positions
as Mining Engineer, Production
Supervisor, Production Planner/Engineer, Operations Supervisor
and Technical Services Manager at RTEA’s Antelope and Jacobs Ranch Mines
and Rio Tinto's Colowyo Mine. Most recently, Mr.
Rivenes held the position of General Manager
at the Jacobs Ranch and Antelope Mines prior to his appointment
as Vice President, Operations in RTEA’s
corporate headquarters.
Mr.
Rivenes holds a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from
Montana College of Mineral, Science &
Technology.
